Šilo is situated on the north-east coast of the Adriatic
island to Šilo offers accommodation in family houses with fully
fitted apartments and rooms. These guest houses are conveniently located at
the seafront, the farthest a mere 30-450 m from the sea. In the peak season
when all capacities are fully booked, this idyllic resort has 1,200 visitors
at the most, thus ensuring peace and quiet for a pleasant and restful stay.
There are a few small restaurants offering set menus, but also delicious
local and international specialities as well. Not to be mised are the
well-known island wines and home-made dishes prepared with olive oil.
Entertainment programs include local summer festivities and occasional
«klapa» singing (male chorus singing in a group of 5 to 10 men, typical for
the Adriatic coast and islands). There are also interesting things to see and
do in the vicinity: visit picturesque Dobrinj with its old churches and
ethnographic collection, or the cave «Biserujka» in the village Rudine. The There are two small harbours for smaller vessels and a
number of safe moorings. All required formalities may be completed in the
Harbour Master’s Office in Šilo. In the immediate vicinity there is a number
of small marinas where boats can be left throughout the year (sea and dry
docks). The indented coast and interesting underwater world
attract a large number of scuba divers who enjoy the natural beauties of a
fascinating submarine world. They can also explore the secrets of sunken
ships in the nearby waters. |
