The ancient Romans had their reasons for choosing their stay in Rovinj many years ago.......
The coastline of Rovinj with his 22 islands and rocks is extraordinarily beautiful (the entire coastline is a protected natural heritage site).
The origin of the town goes back to the 18th century when the former settlement and island (the part that is today the Old town) was linked with the mainland.
While walking through the old town you will think that you have gone back in time.
The picture on the right is the 'Via Grisia', the so-called street of artists. It is called that way because of the many galleries in the street. Every year in august there is an exhibition, called of course 'Grisia', when all the artists exhibit their works of art on the street.
